About Woodland Camping at Woodsworth Exploring

Traditional camping in our 10 acre broadleaved woodland. Located in Oakworth in the heart of the Bronte countryside. Family friendly, feel safe knowing cars are only permitted in the car park so your children can run free within the woodland.

Park up in the carpark near the site entrance, then grab your gear and the staff will guide you to a suitable pitch for your requirements. Wheelbarrows are available to help carry your gear through the woods.

Love nature? Then you’ll love this site.

It’s back to basics proper camping here, with drinking water standpipe, and now we have flushing toilets and hand wash sinks in our new toilet block.

Our pitches are well spaced from one another and well sized, however, smaller tents (and/or hammocks) are recommended as our whole site is woodland there are trees within pitch areas, so we only have limited places to put large tents. Please tell us your tent size when booking so that we can get the best pitch for you.

Dogs welcome. Fires allowed. We do a fire induction with everyone and charge for a fire licence, this includes if you want to bring your own firepit & wood. The reason for this is to manage the risk of forest fires and damage to the ecology so we need to take extra precautions. We are doing all we can to improve the ecology of the woodland, so for this reason there is no burning of deadwood allowed, as rotting wood (big logs and little sticks) are fabulous for the woodland ecology. See prices below for fires and firewood.

Nearby:

5 minutes’ walk to local Co-op shop for supplies.

2 Pubs and 2 restaurants within 10 minutes’ walk.

There is an endless list of walks in the area suitable for both novice and experience walkers – with scenery of the Bronte countryside that is outstanding. Set off from the woodland straight onto public rights of way, it’s a 10 mile round trip to walk out to Top Withins and back. Alternatively enjoy a 1 mile quick walk down the hill and you’re at the set of the Railway Children film, Oakworth Railway Station, where you can jump aboard a steam-train up the valley to Haworth and Oxenhope, or into the town of Keighley.

Oakworth is only a 5 minutes’ drive to Haworth, home of the Bronte museum and the famous cobbled Haworth Main Street full of traditional shops, lovely cafes and pubs.

Yorkshire is great for cycling too and this site is only a 5 minute ride from the famous Cote de Goose Eye from the Tour de Yorkshire route.

Skipton is less than 30 minutes away by car, a lovely market town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
