Reconnect with nature
with a ‘nearly wild’
camping experience
Woodsworth Exploring is more than
a campsite – it’s a woodland that is carefully managed to support wildlife, protect habitats and to create a space where you can immerse yourself in nature.
Based in Oakworth, West Yorkshire, our 10 acre woodland is ready to welcome you for camping and a range of experiences from wild yoga, hammock camping, forest schools and more.
Our ‘nearly wild’ facilities
Swing beneath the trees
Hammocks provide the best nights’ sleep outdoors you’ve ever had and they are much better for the natural environment than tent camping as they don’t squash the ground flora.
Fancy trying it?
You can hire full hammock kits with everything you need to hang your own, or hire one of our skilled team members to help you pitch it up.
Waking to the sound of birdsong
Being cosy by a campfire
Walking through quiet woodland paths
Falling asleep beneath the trees
Your own secluded pitch
Slowing down, away from noise
We host a range of events in the woodland, from sound baths, wild yoga, forest schools to children’s parties.
If you would like to find out more about our current events, or even host your own –
Make wilder camping a little bit easier and hire one of our pre-pitched bell tents.
Our bell tents are 4m in diameter, so it’ll easily sleep up to 6 people. Just bring your own sleeping bag, sleep mat/air bed along with any equipment you need for your stay. It’s still wild, just camping made a little easier!
We are passionate about protecting our woodland, so our site is as eco friendly as possible. You can be reassured that your trip isn’t causing damage to this natural landscape.
Not travelling to us by car?
We have a green travel initiative, just let us know how you arrive and receive a discount coupon for a future stay if you’ve travelled “self propelled” or on public transport.
A Campfire beneath the trees is one of the most magical parts of staying at Woodsworth.
Because the woodland is carefully protected, we ask guest to purchase a fire permit – which gives you the knowledge to enjoy a fire safety while protecting the surrounding area.
Our woodland has lots of flora and fauna, here are just a few…
