FIRE

If you discover a fire that is out of control or unattended:
1) If the fire is large and out of control – call 999 and ask for the fire brigade. Our location details can be found here.

2) Once you have called the fire service, or if the fire is small or contained and unattended. Call the warden on 07434 666 527 they will help you
implement the evacuation if required and fight the fire if it is safe to do.
The warden will know the location of the airhorn to evacuate the site.

If you can remain completely safe, get some water from the nearest source and begin to
fight the fire.

If you hear an air horn with three long blasts followed by a 30 s break followed by three long blasts, repeating our fire alarm is going off. We’ll
only sound this if you are in danger, when you hear it:

1) Leave your belongings. Head to the nearest point on the main path and walk down it to the muster point at the gate of the woodland. If you can’t find the main path head up hill until you do.

2) If the route down the main path is blocked by fire go up the main path to the top gate, exit the woodland and walk down the public right of way to Slaymaker Lane. Turn left and head to the site entrance.

3) If you are surrounded by fire and can not access the main path call the warden on 07434666527 for assistance or sound a whistle and shout to attract attention.
